Born in Barcelona in 1981. I’m graduated in cinematography at ESCAC (University of Barcelona) in 2003.
I started in the industry trough the camera department. Mi first step on the cinematography comes in 2010 with the second unit cinematography of Buried directed by Rodrigo Cortés (cinematography by Edu Grau).
In 2012 I shoot my first feature on my own Otel.lo directed by my ESCAC classmate and friend Hammudi Al-Rahmoun.
In 2013 I won my first price. The documentary Who is Dayani Cristal? wins “Best Documentary Cinematography Award” in Sundance Film Festival 2013.The new came to me the day before start shooting Cannibal (a Manuel Martin Cuenca film). Maybe this brought me luck because with this film I won best cinematography at San Sebastian Film Festival 2013 and I had been recognized by the Spanish film industry as the best cinematography of the year with the GOYA 2014.
In 2014, the film I shot with Jaime Rosales Hermosa Juventud was selected in “Un certain regard” in Cannes Film Festival. This same year, working together again with cinematographer Edu Grau, I shoot two movies in London. Suffragette (directed by Sarah Gavron) and Trespass Against Us an Adam Smith film.
Back to Spain I shoot Maria Ripoll’s comedy Ahora o Nunca.
2015 stars with the challenge of Project Lazarus (Mateo Gil’s) my bigest movie so far. But I’m sure that this is just the begining… let’s see whats next!
